How early should I arrive?

We ask that you arrive at least 5 minutes (10 minutes for new clients) before your scheduled appointment. We understand there may be a situation out of your control that causes you to be late for your appointment. In such a case, our policy is as follows: If the schedule permits us to provide you with the full session length, we will be happy to do so. However, if it does not, you will receive the remainder of your session and be expected to pay for the time originally reserved.

You must complete the client intake form which can be accessed through your confirmation email. If not completed before appointment time, the time it takes for you to complete your form is part of your appointment time.

For the safety and security of our clients and business, first-time clients are required to present a valid government-issued photo ID at the front desk. The ID will be scanned and securely stored electronically.

The individual receiving services is responsible for payment for all services rendered during their appointment. We retain government-issued identification to help ensure that we can identify and contact the individual if an unauthorized or fraudulent payment method is used.

Occasionally, we encounter situations involving disputed payments for services that were received or appointments paid for with stolen or unauthorized credit cards. Requiring identification helps protect both our clients and our business in these circumstances.

If a payment is determined to have been made using a stolen or unauthorized payment method, the individual who received the services remains responsible for the full balance due.

How is time allocated for an appointment at EMC?

Your appointment begins when we take you to your treatment room. Your appointment includes up to 10 minutes of…

  • discussion about what you want your therapist to focus on, what they should avoid, and any relevant health history to provide you with the most beneficial, tailored, and rejuvenating massage therapy treatment.

  • giving you time to undress for the the treatment and dress after the treatment

The remainder of your appointment time is dedicated to the treatment and applying any massage enhancements that you may have added to your treatment.

What areas are focused on during a massage?

Following the initial consultation, appointment type, and body scan, the therapist will provide a full body massage, while dedicating extra time to areas that need more attention based on their professional assessment.

I have never had a massage before. What are some tips for preparing for a massage appointment?

Tips for Preparing for a Massage Appointment

Complete the Client Intake Form Prior to the Appointment: You must complete the client intake form which can be accessed through your confirmation email. If not completed before appointment time, the time it takes for you to complete your form is part of your appointment time.

Take a Shower: A warm shower before your appointment can help you feel more relaxed and clean, making it easier for the therapist to work on your muscles.

Remove Make Up and Jewelry: Your face will rest on a massage face cradle during your session, which may cause makeup to smear or transfer. We recommend arriving with little or no makeup. Alternatively, you may bring makeup remover to use before or after your session.

Please remove all jewelry before your massage begins. Jewelry can interfere with the therapist's hands, potentially scratch you or your therapist, and may become lost or damaged during the session.

Removing jewelry before your appointment helps ensure a more comfortable and relaxing experience while also protecting your personal belongings.

Drink Water: Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water before your massage. This helps keep your muscles relaxed and will support the release of toxins that can be flushed out during the session.

Use the Restroom: Use the restroom prior to your appointment so you do not interrupt your massage treatment. Time will not be extended if you have to use the restroom during your session.

Bring Government ID: If you are new client to Emerald Massage Center. Please bring a photo ID. We will scan and store it electronically for security purposes. We suggest coming 5 minutes before your appointment to allow time for the receptionist to scan your ID.

What is the massage therapy appointment process?

At your scheduled time, the therapist will greet you in the lobby and escort you to your treatment room. There, they will conduct a brief pre-consultation to discuss your health, concerns, and goals for the session. Afterward, the therapist will step out so you can undress and lie face down on the treatment table, keeping your undergarments on. If you prefer a clothes-on massage, please let your therapist know. For a clothes-on massage we recommend wearing something thin and form fitting. For example, a pair of running shorts and a loose t-shirt. Regardless of clothes preference, please ensure that your body is fully covered with the sheets and your cellphone is on silent. After the session, the therapist will exit the room for you to dress and leave the treatment room. Please do not take no more than 5 minutes to leave the treatment room at the end of your session. Please meet the therapist in the lobby to checkout.

How long of a session should I book for?

If your main focus is on a specific area—such as the upper or lower body (for example, just the back and neck)—we recommend a 45-minute session. However, if your body feels especially tense, inflamed, stiff, or uncomfortable and you’d like more focused work on a specific area, we recommend booking at least 60 minutes.

For a full-body treatment, we recommend at least 45 or 60 minutes.

If you plan to add any massage enhancements, please note that add-ons do not add additional time to your appointment.

Do you do mobile massage/house call massage?

We offer mobile (house call) massage services; however, availability is limited. To secure an appointment, we recommend calling us to see availability at least one day in advance. Full payment is required at the time of booking. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment are subject to a 50% cancellation fee. We charge $150 per hour + a traveling fee if your location is more than 15 miles of Emerald Massage Center.
